Shalom Newsletter

Our voice for peace since 1941

Shalom is the newsletter of the Jewish Peace Fellowship. Since our earliest days it has carried essays, commentary, history, and resources on peace, nonviolence, conscientious objection, and the Jewish traditions that call us toward justice.

For decades, Shalom has been our primary way of thinking aloud, together, about the hardest questions of war and peace from a Jewish perspective. Published since 1968, it remains a record of a community wrestling — issue after issue — with conscience and conviction.

The archive

Our archive of past issues spans more than a decade of writing — a living record of how our community has wrestled with militarism, the draft, the Middle East, and the ongoing work of building peace. We are gradually bringing the full collection into this site; in the meantime, the complete run of past issues is available to read.
